Who we are

Front porches are where we gather to talk, to laugh, to share our lives. They are where we play our music, share our hard times and heartbreaks, our good times and belly-laughs, our losses and our triumphs. They are the heartbeat of what makes this country great.

Appalachia is not just a region. It is a way of life. It is the tradition of a past that has molded it, the faith of a present that continues to set it apart from the world, and the promise of a future that still holds onto the values that made it what it is -- all evident in the life shared on Appalachia’s front porches.

We are community-minded journalists with more than 40 years experience in covering the life and times of small communities in several states. We have dedicated our lives to promoting the unique cultures of the communities we serve.

What we do...

No fake news here! Only local news that matters to the communities, the people who live there, and those who choose to visit. We focus on the experience of Appalachian life....nothing more, nothing less. No agenda. Just good ole front porch living.
